Avanti Ramraj

Avanti is a senior at Granite Bay High School. She is a nationally ranked speech and debate competitor, a captain of her Sacramento robotics team,  and the president and founder of SURF, a non-profit organization promoting robotics and STEM through global outreach programs. Avanti works with state and local leaders to incorporate life-changing programs such as robotics and speech and debate into schools. Avanti aspires to become a urologist, and perform robotic surgery.

Presentation Topic  “There’s a brown girl in the ring”

Avanti is building her legacy now by helping children overcome the misperception that it is not feasible to change the world as a kid. She leads by changing things herself, as a self-proclaimed, “brown girl in STEM.”
