In the early 20th century, a beautiful tradition emerged in Naples known as “caffe sospeso” or “suspended coffee.” Patrons would pay for two coffees but only consume one, leaving the second for someone in need. This act of kindness ensured that everyone, regardless of their financial situation, could enjoy a warm cup of coffee.

Inspired by this tradition, TEDxFolsom is introducing “Tickets Sospeso” for our upcoming event on June 22, 2024. We believe that access to knowledge and inspiration should be available to everyone, and you can help make this possible.

How It Works:

Purchase: When buying your ticket, add another ticket to your cart and checkout. The Harris Center Box Office with email you the ticket.
Next: Email the Ticket Sospeso to Matt@tedxfolsom.com, with whom the ticket should be designated; not sure. Just say Scholarship ticket, and we will add it to our scholarship ticket pool.
Distribution: Ticket Sospeso will be discreetly distributed to those who apply, ensuring privacy and dignity.

Matthew Loughran, EMBA

Matthew is the Executive Director of TEDxFolsom, an accomplished senior executive and social impact entrepreneur in the emerging technology field. Matthew is the principal at FounderX.co, a startup growth agency, and Midtown West, a Web3 and innovation-focused media firm. In addition, he serves as executive advisor to social impact, fintech, and mobility startups, a blockchain smart contract audit and cyber security firm, and boards of non-profits. Matthew possesses a history of multilateral stakeholder alignment across public, private, and faith-based sectors leveraging technology for social impact. Matthew is a Humanity 2.0 Patron Council member, a member of the Forbes Impact Community, and a recipient of the Laudato Si Impact Award in coordination with The Vatican Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development.

Matthew holds a B.S. in Biology and Marketing from Loyola University Maryland and an Executive M.B.A. from Washington State University. In addition, Matthew is a certified Impact Measurement and Management specialist for the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals through Duke University Fuqua School of Business. Matthew also holds multiple certifications in strategic board service, including long-term growth, M&A strategy, cybersecurity, and strategic communications. Matthew is a respected contributor to many business publications and believes companies can deliver top-tier products and services while operating with a double or triple bottom line approach.
